The Power of Words

Did you know that your words have power in them?!

Seriously, they do!

Think about it, God created this world by speaking it into existence.And He did this for six days, and on the seventh day He rested.

Why am I telling you this?

Because you must understand when you speak, you have the power to manifest life or death into your life.  Oftentimes, we set out life on a trajectory based on our decisions, actions, and the words that are spoken out of our mouth.

In the bible there is a scripture that goes like this, “death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Proverbs 18:21

You can’t go through life, saying anything that you want about your life, and anyone else’s life for that matter thinking that it won’t affect you or them because it will!

Do you remember the rapper, Tupac Shakur? Well he died when he was only 25 years old.  Tupac rapped and created music that prophesied about his death, but the sad thing is that his dying became a self-prophecy. Why?
Because this is what he was constantly saying.  I wasn’t surprise at all when the news broke of him being shot and killed in Las Vegas, why? Because oftentimes he rapped about how he would die.

Unfortunately, Tupac didn’t realize the power of his words.  Clearly we see that he spoke death over his life, and in doing so he set the trajectory, and so he received death.

Even Pastor Joel Osteen of www.JoelOsteen.com says “don’t allow those negative words come out of your mouth, let them die stillborn.” Why? Because he recognizes the power of words!

However, the same is true if you choose to speak life over your life you will receive life.If you’re working toward a goal in life or business, do the work that will allow you to have a favorable result, but be sure to speak positive words and blessings over its outcome.

Are you familiar with Solange Knowles? Well if you’re not, she is Beyonce’s younger sister.  Solange launched her digital album called A Seat At The Table in October 2016, and I saw an Instagram Post from Tina Knowles-Lawson saying that Solange’s album will debut on the chart as #1.  Well guess what Solange’s album hit  #1 on Billboard 200 chart according to www.billboard.com.  You can check out the full story here.

Now don’t get me wrong Solange and her husband obviously did the work that put her in the position to obtain the #1 spot, but she had to be positive about what she was doing, and of course her Mom was speaking life and blessings over her project too.

Here is my final point, be careful about the words that you speak out of your mouth because you can either bring life or death into your life.  Remember if you’re not careful about what you say you surely will receive what you say, good or bad.  So choose to speak life over your life by starting today so you can have and enjoy your life to the fullest!
